POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Jazz Drummondville residence has the pleasure of welcoming a golden clientele, whether independent or losing their autonomy. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere where we feel at home. We are currently seeking a talented Licensed Practical Nurse who cares about the health of our residents. This is a permanent, full-time position, 7/15, with shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies.
  2. Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics.
  3. Assist in evaluating and adjusting therapeutic nursing plans (TNPs) for residents requiring special clinical care.
  4. Create and maintain meticulous notes in related dossiers according to the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières du Québec (OIIQ).
  5. Ensure good communication and medical follow-ups with relevant parties.
  6. Help maintain trusting relationships with residents' families and friends, as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.).
  7. Identify and communicate the needs of the service department.
  8. Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents.
  9. Provide healthcare and wellness services to maintain and restore residents' health and help prevent illness.
  10. Respond to all emergency situations.
  11. Participate in clinical assessments of residents and update treatment plans according to their specific needs.
  12. Update residents' medical dossiers and prescriptions upon request by their doctor or pharmacist.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Diploma in nursing (DEC) or a professional studies diploma (DEP) in healthcare assistance or nursing.
  2. Basic computer skills.
  3. Knowledge of retirement homes is a major asset.
  4. Good interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Geriatric experience is an asset.
  6. A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience.
  7. Member of the OIIAQ or OIIQ.
  8. Up-to-date CPR/AED training certificates.
