Full Job Description

Reporting into the Vice President, Private Wealth, as Associate Vice President, Private Wealth, you’ll lead a team of esteemed Wealth Advisors, providing support and guidance to ensure the achievement of our strategic and business objectives through delivering an exceptional client experience. You’ll be actively involved in shaping the performance, direction, and growth of our Wealth Advisor team. The successful candidate will provide support, guidance, and leadership to a team of trusted Wealth Advisors, ensuring we meet our strategic goals while delivering outstanding service to clients.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Work with the Private Wealth leadership team on strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  2. Partner with individual Wealth Advisors to establish annual business and development plans, providing regular support for successful performance.
  3. Review and monitor key performance indicators to ensure all Wealth Advisors meet client service standards and deliver a bespoke client experience.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with Private Wealth leadership, Operations teams, and other departments on corporate projects involving Private Wealth.
  5. Manage advisor capacity and client file allocation, including assigning new clients to Wealth Advisors and administering the Wealth Advisor compensation structure.
  6. Support Wealth Advisor talent development and career progression through engagement in and promotion of people development activities and programs.
  7. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and integrating new Wealth Advisors into the team.
  8. Build a talent pipeline of internal associates to support career progression from Associate to Wealth Advisor, in partnership with Wealth Planning leadership.
  9. Serve as a go-to resource for Wealth Advisors, providing leadership, support, strong communication, and guidance on escalations and questions, fostering a supportive culture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
  • 4+ years' experience in a client-facing advisor or relationship management role.
  • 8+ years of related work experience in wealth management, demonstrating leadership of a professional team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certifications.
  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) preferred; willingness to work towards it if not held.
  • Experience delivering results in high-performing, client-oriented environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with PowerBI is a plus.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada for any employer.
