Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a highly motivated Senior Project Designer, ICT (Information Communications Technology) and Team Leader to join their growing, multi-disciplinary team. The Lead is a seller/doer, responsible for the overall success of their team.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure efficient resource management responsive to workloads while balancing utilization and backlog targets that support healthy operations.
  2. Drive Stantec’s Safer Together culture, prioritizing the health and safety of employees.
  3. Develop, attract, engage, and retain top talent.
  4. Establish employee connectedness to leadership through regular interaction.
  5. Serve as a respected leader, thought partner, and advisor within the studio.
  6. Build strong partnerships with other business units to foster collaboration, diversify the client base, and grow revenue.
  7. Design ICT systems, including pathway drawings, low voltage device and telecommunications outlet plans, system single line drawings, and technical specifications, covering systems like Electronic Security, Structured Cable, Paging, Wireless, and Data Networks.
  8. Handle design development and documentation in written and CAD formats.
  9. Prepare tender drawings and specifications for various facility types.
  10. Perform ICT project management activities, including site visits, client meetings, assessments, reports, and deliverables review.
  11. Lead technical guidance for subordinate engineers, including training and performance review.
  12. Liaise with clients to develop engineering projects, prepare proposals and cost estimates.
  13. Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
  14. Participate in meetings, initiatives, and projects supporting company goals.
  15. Collaborate on business development strategies and participate in industry events.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian electrical standards and codes.
  • Familiarity with TIA/BICSI standards and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with Revit software.
  • Leadership ability with a collaborative, entrepreneurial approach.
  • Experience leading skilled professional teams.
  • Excellent client relationship skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and integrate design elements.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant ICT experience.

Note: The role involves typical office work with potential field exposure to weather conditions. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
