About the team you are joining:

Led by the Head Aviation Supply Chain, the team is responsible for the development and roll-out of global standards, policies, and positions papers related to the technical operations area. All members of the team have a direct interface with the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international bodies.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that IATA positions and policies related to the technical operations area, and in particular our IATA aviation supply chain priority, are developed and coordinated internally and across IATA regions, such that the resources are used efficiently.

You will work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders and drive industry initiatives across international bodies.

What your day would be like:

• Lead the development of a more data-centric approach to aircraft reliability and maintenance program development.
  
• Support the development of appropriate training programs.
  
• Help to identify other data-driven programs that are of core benefit to our IATA members.
  
• Provide flight technical expertise to support IATA members’ requirements.
  
• Assist the Head Aviation Supply Chain in ensuring the efficient running of the technical operations area.
  
• Provide the technical flight operations expertise as required to ensure that our members' needs are represented in terms of sustainability initiatives.
  
• Support all IATA advocacy requirements including, but not limited to, work engagements with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Coordination Council of Aerospace Industry Associations (ICCAIA), Original Aircraft Manufacturers (OEMs), and others in relation to the technical operations area.
  
• Support the Head Aviation Supply Chain to identify and drive new initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability, as well as to help recognize, define, and execute commercial opportunities of value to our members and IATA.

We would love to hear from you if:

• 7 years' experience as a manager within an airline maintenance and engineering team, including considerable experience in developing specific processes and procedures, monitoring aircraft reliability, and developing maintenance programs.
  
• Experience in implementing airline technical operations efficiency programs as well as knowledge of major aviation regulatory frameworks.
  
• An appropriate aviation engineering degree or license.
  
• The ability to drive collaborations and knowledge exchange across IATA, including our regions, as well as with external partners.
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
