Summary Of The Opportunity

SelfDesign Learning Foundation is seeking an experienced, K–12 educator with a strong background in numeracy and math curriculum and online learning to join our Curriculum Design Team. In this part-time role, you'll support the SelfDesign Learning Community (SDLC) Educational Program team in shaping creative, learner-centred experiences in a fully online environment.

This is a one-year 0.5 FTE contract running from August 2025 to July 2026. You'll work collaboratively within a team to support and enhance numeracy curriculum for learners, with a focus on Grades 8–12 (especially Grades 10–12).

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Is enthusiastic about curriculum development and online learning
• Demonstrates initiative and brings creative, learner-first thinking
• Is curious, reflective, and open to innovative approaches
• Ideally has experience working in D2L Brightspace.

Work Environment

We are a remote organization. We operate during Pacific Time zone business hours, Monday to Friday. You set your own hours of work, between the business hours noted above. You also need to be available for occasional online meetings during these same hours. Meetings are scheduled in advance.

Contract start date: August 1, 2025

Contract end date: July 31, 2026

Budget

$36,000 - $38,000 - .5 contract

Approximately 20 hours per week

This contract is compensated according to SelfDesign's annual contract fee schedule currently being updated for the 2025–26 year. Details will be shared with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.

Oversight

You will work at the direction of the Education Program Area Lead.

Services Required

• Revise and create grades 8-12 math curriculum with emphasis on problem-based learning and interactive asynchronous activities
• Create new and revise existing optional challenges in the Learning Experience Library.
