Governance Manager

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Governance Manager coordinates and supports the work of the Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Members of the Annual General Meeting, Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Board Committees, affiliate organizations and managed entities. This important work is done through detailed planning, project management, financial management, governance training and administration to allow for timely and effective decisions to be made during their respective meetings. The Governance manager will ensure regular governance orientation and training is provided to the appropriate individuals and boards as required as well provide advice to the CEO concerning best practices for conducting meetings, governance and governance training. The Governance Manager travels at least 3 times per year within Nunavut to attend meetings to record resolutions and minutes.
To be invited for an interview; you must have a college diploma in office administration or a related field, experience in working with political boards, experience in recording minutes, experience in managing financial resources. Experience in using Microsoft Office including SharePoint, Adobe software, and iPad is required. As the Governance Manager, you must possess a proven ability to work on own initiative, set and meet deadlines, prioritize and be able to multitask in a demanding environment. Excellent written and verbal communications abilities in Inuktut and English are required.
Starting salary is $116,841.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Housing allowance of $35,865.00
