Lerners is seeking a Law Clerk to support the Real Estate and Land Development practice group in the London, Ontario office, specifically in the area of commercial real estate. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working in a similar position. This is a hybrid position and requires a minimum of 3 days in the office or as required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Opening & closing files.
  • Conducting conflict searches.
  • Inputting files into Unity.
  • Maintaining an effective BF system.
  • Handling primarily commercial real estate and financing deals.
  • Ordering title searches, corporate searches, and municipal reports when deals are firm.
  • Ordering payout statements on sale & mortgage files.
  • Preparing real estate and financing transactions for closing.
  • Finalizing reports for clients and financial institutions.
  • Billing.
  • Following up on undertakings and outstanding items on files.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new subject matter and skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Teraview and related requirements concerning title and Unity matters.
  • College diploma or university degree in a related field is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
