Job description

Job Summary : Business Manager responsible for sales growth within an assigned territory (geographic, account-specific, or a combination). Acts as a direct interface to customers, channels, and internal teams. Defines primary market access for Dodge products.

Areas of Responsibility :

  • Standards and Governance : Responsible for selling products in alignment with the company’s values, goals, and strategic plans.
  • Strategy : Leverages resources such as Dodge Product Marketing, Industry Solutions, Channel Sales, Inside Sales, Engineering, and Plants to drive sales growth.
  • Territory Support : Collaborates with Regional Sales Managers and other Account Managers to learn and support territory management.
  • Sales Support : Works with Regional Sales Managers and other Account Managers to lead initiatives that increase sales.
  • Reporting : Ensures timely submission of sales and expense reports, utilizing tools like Salesforce.com and PowerBI to support sales efforts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :

  • 5-10 years of experience in the power transmission industry.
  • 2-7 years of knowledge of Dodge products.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably technical, or equivalent relevant experience.

Physical Demands :

  • Walking distances at customer sites with potentially adverse conditions such as extreme heat, humidity, dust, underground, and heights.
  • Comfortable in confined spaces.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods daily.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically (approximately 50-60%).
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Reaching, climbing, crawling—comfortable climbing tall structures and walking on catwalks.
  • Ability to speak and present both in person and virtually to individuals and small groups.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Grow Dodge business annually through volume increase and new business opportunities.
  • Regularly visit distributor branches and customer sites.
  • Develop relationships within distributor channels and at end-user sites within a defined territory.
  • Collaborate and strategize with key contacts to formulate yearly business plans.
  • Conduct plant surveys to assess current installed products and potential for interchange / conversion with Dodge products.
