About the role

We are looking for a Mobile React Native Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join the Industrious Engineering Team. Technology is at the heart of re-thinking coworking, and you will play an integral role in shaping our vision of a better work-day into reality. You will collaborate with the product, design, and development teams to implement our mobile application with an emphasis on scalable and resilient design. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our mobile applications used by thousands of members every day.

We have a strong preference for candidates based in Montreal, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain our mobile application, including backend work
• Ensure scalability and resilience of the solutions implemented
• Partner with business units and the Product team to implement suitable technology that aligns with Industrious' overall systems architecture and data strategy
• Deliver high-quality code, in accordance with best practices, and stay up-to-date on industry standards
• Future-proof the software solutions you deliver by minimizing built-in assumptions and writing tests where appropriate
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Contribute to the culture of our team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience as a Full-Stack Mobile Engineer with at least 5 years in a previous role
• Strong knowledge of Javascript, Typescript, React Native, and NodeJS
• Strong knowledge of native ecosystems (iOS and Android). Experience in native languages (Java/Objective C) is an asset
• Strong knowledge of unit testing with React Native Testing Library and Jest
• Strong understanding of state management in React
• Deep understanding of distributed architecture; experience with microservices and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka is an asset
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably with CodeMagic, is an asset
• Experience with Apple/Google guidelines and store submission is an asset
• A desire for continuous self-improvement and problem-solving
• A knack for collaboration
