From field exploration and laboratory testing to design and construction management of complex geotechnical structures, our team delivers robust project solutions.

Your opportunity

Join Stantec as a Geotechnical Engineer EIT in our Quebec City office. Your main task will be to carry out site investigations for various types of studies.

Your responsibilities will include :

Participate in small to large-scale geotechnical studies.

Set up boreholes.

Supervise field work, including drilling and various in situ tests.

Take soil samples and describe soil components in accordance with applicable standards.

Perform various types of in-situ tests, such as shear strength test, Lugeon test, electronic piezocone, etc.

Assemble and check equipment, ensuring calibration.

Contribute to technical reports, proposing clear, precise, and refined solutions.

Depending on the project, you may also be called upon to participate in rock mechanics studies : related to slope stability, deep excavations, foundations, and landslide risks. This will include characterizing rock masses and assessing geological and / or geotechnical conditions by taking rock samples and describing them (discontinuities, joint conditions, etc.).

Qualifications

Your background

Bachelor's degree in geological engineering or civil engineering with a concentration in geology.

Minimum of one year's relevant experience (employment or several internships).

Familiarity with vane inspections and other in-situ tests.

Familiarity with environmental soil and groundwater sampling procedures.

Fluency in written and spoken French.

Your keys to success

Completion of a geotechnical studies program.

Master's degree an asset.

Knowledge of Geostudio and Settle 3D software.

Knowledge of English is an asset to facilitate collaboration with our internal teams outside Quebec or with our clients.

Experience in geotechnical laboratory testing.

Valid driver's license and access to a car.

ASP card.

Willingness to travel to different sites across the province. Enjoy working outdoors.
