Job description

Reporting to the Station Manager and under the direction of the Remedial Manager, the Remedial Supervisor assists in managing the day-to-day field remedial cementing operations on location and at the shop. This position also supports primary cementing activity as needed. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure they arrive at the location on time.
  • Execute successful cementing jobs according to design/client specifications; understand rigging in/out procedures.
  • Ensure efficient handling of day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure critical tasks are completed on every cementing job, including measuring cement density, collecting samples, radio communication, and unit blowdowns.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal departments, including Sales and Dispatch.
  • Work with station management to maintain operation and service standards and assist in station leadership.
  • Evaluate Bulk Drivers and Operators on weekly maintenance and equipment rebuilding.
  • Adhere to and enforce company Safety policies and comply with HSE legislation.
  • Prepare end-of-well, end-of-month, incident, abnormalities, maintenance, logbook, and job reports as required.
  • Verify load tickets and participate in incident reporting.
  • Implement procedures to ensure high service levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with management to improve policies and procedures.
  • Supervise a crew on basic remedial jobs.
  • Operate any two core pieces of equipment.
  • Understand slow rate squeeze theory and perform operational execution.
  • Understand downhole tools and coil tubing fundamentals.
  • Complete Supervisor 1 sections of MAP.
  • Support primary cementing activities as needed.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications - Required
  • Valid Class 1 (Canada) / Class A CDL (U.S.) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physically capable of lifting objects up to 23 kg, and capable of bending, standing, gripping, sitting/driving, walking, and climbing repeatedly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • On-call availability 24 hours on a 15-day on/6-day off schedule, remaining fit for duty.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and exposure to loud noises and vibrations.
  • Experience as an oil and gas cementing supervisor and in operating pumpers.
  • Ability to direct and motivate others.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country of employment.
Qualifications - Looking For
  • Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Experience in report completion and customer/disptach interactions.
  • Knowledge of cementing job design and client specifications.
  • Ability to ensure safety and policy compliance.
  • Ability to perform regular equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability.
  • Flexibility, teamwork, customer focus, initiative, and results orientation.
Qualifications - Assets
  • Possession of oilfield tickets.
  • Experience with volume and hydrostatic calculations.
  • Ability to rebuild equipment.
