About the Role:

The Accounting team is looking for a student to work closely with the team for the Summer 2025 term. The student will be part of a collaborative team of accounting professionals working together in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial information for Brookfield Renewable.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in and support the team in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process;
2. Learn Brookfield Renewable processes and propose improvements;
3. Review general ledger account activities to ensure accuracy and make corrective journal entries;
4. Maintain and reconcile monthly general ledger reconciliations;
5. Generate monthly financial reports;
6. Prepare weekly bank reconciliations;
7. Provide support to the Manager in various related activities;
8. Provide quarterly audit support to auditor questions and requests.

Knowledge Required:

1. Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program;
2. Completed first year university studies in Commerce/Business Administration (preferably 3rd or 4th year with a concentration in Accounting);
3. Financial/Accounting knowledge and preferably some familiarity in IFRS;
4. Advanced knowledge of Excel;
5. Knowledge of accounting systems like IFS or Blackline is considered an asset.

Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
