Job Opening: Janitor

Rate of Pay: $19.50 - $21.90 / Hour

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on janitor responsible for janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of our sports complex and grounds. Primary responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Responsibilities

1. Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
2. Keep entrances, grounds, and parking lot clean, clear, and safe, including:
1. Property & grounds cleanup
2. Grass cutting and edging
3. Seasonal snow and debris removal
3. Maintain checklists, records, and reports related to:
1. Window cleanliness
2. Parking lot & property cleaning
4. Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing following established floor care procedures.
5. Assist with minor maintenance and ice maintenance during peak periods or as needed.

Qualifications and Knowledge

1. High school diploma or equivalent (asset).
2. Valid driver’s license (asset).
3. Building Service Worker Certificate (BC).
4. Experience as a commercial janitor preferred.
5. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and call-outs.
6. Good communication skills, approachable, and team-oriented.
