About the Opportunity

The Perioperative Quality Leader, under the direction of the Perioperative Director and Physician Co-Leads, provides quality leadership for all services in the Perioperative Program. This role promotes improvements in quality management practices to enhance overall performance. The position supports Nova Scotia’s Health Strategic Plan and operational goals, working with co-leadership and multidisciplinary teams to implement process changes for quality improvement.

Site location will be determined based on the successful applicant's location, with regular travel within the Northern Zone.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • A graduate degree in a health-specific field or equivalent education and experience
  • An undergraduate degree in a healthcare discipline; a master's degree is an asset
  • Appropriate licensure/membership in a professional organization
  • Minimum 5 years of perioperative or management experience in a perioperative setting
  • Knowledge of quality systems and innovations in patient care
  • Understanding of perioperative procedures, complications, and patient populations
  • Ability to coach others in continuous quality improvement and regulatory requirements
  • Strong project management, coaching, and teaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and group leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a change agent and team leader
  • High analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with information management and computer skills
  • Operational and strategic planning skills
  • Commitment to a respectful workplace environment
  • Competencies in other languages, especially French, are an asset

Hours

Permanent, full-time; 75 hours biweekly. Travel between sites is required.

Compensation and Benefits

$40.95 - $51.19 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
