YOUR DAILY ROLE

As part of the Nortera Thermal Processes corporate team and under the direction of the Thermal Processes Manager, you organize and analyze activities necessary for developing and validating thermal processes for canned or frozen products from processing plants across North America.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Keep documentation up to date regarding sterilization scales of each canning factory;
  • Maintain documentation related to blanching validations of frozen food plants;
  • Analyze and interpret data collected during canning tests and blanching validations;
  • Participate in multidisciplinary projects for process improvement, development, or problem resolution;
  • Manage thermal deviations submitted by factories, evaluate food safety, recommend release procedures, analyze causes, and monitor action plans;
  • Organize and prioritize canning tests in laboratory simulations and actual production;
  • Coordinate validation tests for production autoclaves;
  • Monitor results through ongoing projects;
  • Develop and review departmental procedures and technical training;
  • Provide technical assistance to factories;
  • Keep the test database updated.
YOUR PROFILE
  • University training in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken;
  • Experience in the food industry is an asset;
  • Experience in quality assurance / R&D;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps;
  • Analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Good communication skills.

The primary workplace is at the head office in Brossard, with occasional visits to factories in Quebec, Ontario, and the United States. Travel to the U.S. for technical training and support is required.
