Class 1 Driver

Fort St. John, BC Seasonal $35.84/hour

Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking Seasonal Operators with a Class 1 license to skillfully navigate frozen roads, clearing snow and ice to ensure safe travel conditions.

In this role, you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a temporary, full-time position as a Class 1 Driver, reporting to the Road Foreperson. This position requires an experienced operator to meet production objectives and work within specified tolerances for a Gravel Hauling Project. Currently hiring in Fort St. John, B.C., with potential travel across the province.

What Success Looks Like

• Prioritize safety for yourself and others at all times
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks successfully
• Perform manual work requiring physical effort with minimal training
• Operate heavy equipment safely in all weather conditions on public roadways
• Follow supervisor’s directions regarding daily activities
• Maintain a record of work progress and completion
• Care for and maintain equipment properly
• Complete work reports and maintenance logs

What You Bring

• At least two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience
• Valid Driver’s License: Class 1 preferred; Class 3 required
• Two (2) years of commercial driving experience is an asset
• Experience in snow removal is an asset
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate is an asset
• Ability to manage electronic reporting via tablets
• Minor equipment maintenance skills
