Job description
General contractor is seeking an Operations Manager to join their team in Vancouver. The Operations Manager will oversee the areas of Site Operations and Project Management teams on ICI and residential high-rise projects. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.
Key Responsibilities of Operations Manager
Develop KPI’s with the Leadership team to monitor performance to measure productivity, effectiveness and the delivery of results
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives to drive
Create a culture of continuous improvement that evaluate procedures and practices and implement improvements that serve the primary goals of revenue growth, cost efficiency, customer service excellence and employee engagement to drive performance
Ensure project sites are living the core value of “Safety First” through compliance with company safety programs and with applicable laws and regulations
Oversee the project teams through the planning, execution, construction and final close out of each project
Monitor projects at a high level, to ensure that they are built according to approved plans, specifications, drawings and applicable building codes and schedules
Oversee and execute Quality Control programs to ensure high quality standards to deliver customer satisfaction
Labour forecasting and planning with the Human Resources Department to determine hiring needs and timing of resources required
Develop team through coaching, feedback, exposure, and stretch assignments
Required Knowledge and Skills of Operations Manager
Minimum 10 years in commercial construction with previous experience in leading a construction operations department
Diploma or degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture
In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles along with estimating, scheduling, procurement, design; applicable codes and regulations, basic understanding of related mechanical, electrical and structural systems
Proven track record in leading and motivating a team
Ability to train/mentor/supervise others in order to enhance performance
Proven hands-on, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office Skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Proven experience with Project Management Software
Excellent leadership and entrepreneurial skills
Analytical, detail oriented, hands on, and a team player
Customer service orientation with the ability to deal with customers under stressful situations
Skilled at managing multiple projects, opportunity analysis and decision-making
