Maintenance Tech II

Hours / Rotating Shift Every Two Weeks

8:30 am to 5:00 pm - 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Pay $25.00/HR

About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that facilities and equipment within the logistics center are maintained safely and reliably. Key duties include performing preventative maintenance, conducting major repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting conveyor systems, and maintaining tool inventory.

What You'll Do:

  • Performs all maintenance related work assignments to ensure all facilities & equipment are properly maintained in a safe and reliable working order.
  • Completes all scheduled preventative maintenance / work assignments and supports final repair results with detailed documentation.
  • Performs unassisted routine preventative maintenance and major repairs on various electrical and mechanical equipment for the entire logistics center.
  • Maintains all equipment in the logistics center.
  • Maintains assigned tools and supports the accurate inventory of all company supplied tools.
  • Assists with and participates in on-the-job training for all skill types that are involved with the maintenance and repair of equipment and the facility.
  • Assists with the coordination of the Maintenance Manager duties.
  • Installs and repairs equipment.
  • Resolves conveyor system variations and malfunctions.
  • Maintains high quality appearance of the equipment, facility, and grounds.
  • Coordinates calls to the waste removal company to ensure dumpsters and compactors are emptied in a timely manner.
  • Updates maintenance work assignment records via the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Performs minor welding tasks with electrical welding equipment on mild steels and is knowledgeable of all safety practices relating to welding processes.
  • Troubleshoots complex electrical controls.
  • Assigns work via computerized work order system.
  • Installs electrical circuitry, conduits, and control components.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Meets attendance and punctuality standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial or commercial maintenance experience.
  • Must have completed classroom training or its equivalent on electrical controls.
  • Must have experience repairing and maintaining conveyor equipment.
  • Must have welding and fabrication experience in Oxy/Ace and electrode or wire type welding equipment and be knowledgeable of all welding safety requirements.
  • Must have training or equivalent for basic AC & DC electricity.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining basic mechanical devices required.

Education/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent experience required.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting conveyor systems with control software.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical systems (24VDC to 480V 3-phase) and control systems.
  • Basic experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
  • Skilled in diagnosing and replacing AC/DC motors, mechanical drives, and gearboxes.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, fire suppression, and conveyor systems.
  • Basic welding skills and safety knowledge preferred.
  • Mechanical repair experience, including bearings, chains, and belts.
  • Capable of learning robotics and automation equipment.
  • Familiar with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Able to perform unassisted repairs and preventative maintenance on all assets, including all equipment and the logistic center building needs, maintaining quality appearance.
  • Physically fit to stand, climb, crouch, crawl, and lift 50 lbs unassisted for extended periods.
  • Able to work non-standard hours, overtime, and on-call availability.
  • Thorough understanding of Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, execution, and record-keeping.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of assigned tools in good condition.
  • Assist with equipment removal, installation, and spare parts inventory management.
  • Basic knowledge of thermal imaging for electrical equipment.
  • Complies with attendance policies and safety standards, leading by example.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  • Performs basic math calculations.
  • Attends to details with accuracy and remains immobile for extended periods.
  • Serves as a resource for resolving complex issues and troubleshoots system problems.
  • Utilizes relevant computer applications (spreadsheets, word processors, databases).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring task completion.

Working Conditions:

  • Distribution center environment; may include exposure to extreme temperatures; high noise levels; high places; wet and/or humid conditions; and outside weather conditions.
  • On-call availability required as necessary.
  • Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.
