Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience

• Must hold, or be eligible for, a(n) NWT Teaching Certificate
• B.Ed with a specialization in Inclusive Schooling
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience
• Experience working as a Program Support Teacher is an asset
• Experience at the Grade 8 - 12 level
• Background in inclusive education, working with students with diverse learning needs, and experience in inclusive school environments
• Experience and knowledge in adapting programs for students with exceptional needs, including developing Individual Education Plans and Student Support Plans
• Experience providing professional development and coaching for teachers in inclusive schooling
• Knowledge of, and experience working with, students with low incidence disabilities
• Training and experience in using standardized assessment instruments to assess student progress
• Knowledge of, and experience with, assistive technology is an asset
• Experience in a northern setting is an asset
• Vulnerable Sector Check is required

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to monitor and lead IEP/SSP processes
• Ability to monitor and lead behavior support plan processes
• Ability to work as part of an effective school team and coordinate school support teams
