Financial Analyst, Audit & Processing - Hybrid
The Opportunity
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst, Audit & Processing to join our Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions across the organization. You will be responsible for auditing and processing expenditures, supporting internal stakeholders, and maintaining financial integrity through our systems.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Transaction Processing & Auditing:
Audit and process suppliers’ invoices to purchase order in accordance with the procure to payment procedure.
Ensure all transactions comply with accounting standards and internal policies.
Resolve internal and external financial queries.
Identify, resolve, and correct any errors and discrepancies as required.
Collaborate with procurement and receiving teams with invoice and payment issues related to PO costing and material received.
Expense Management:
Review employee cash and corporate card expense statements for compliance.
Communicate discrepancies and maintain the expense management system.
Perform expense management system maintenance and testing.
Ensure compliance with all AER policies.
Reconciliations & Billing:
Perform balance sheet GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as required.
Audit and process billing invoice requisitions and credit memos.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of billing invoices.
Maintain records of reconciliations and billing transactions.
Reporting:
Prepare and review externally published expense disclosure reports for executives and board members.
Review reports with Finance Manager prior to submission.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of reports.
What we’re looking for in you:
Diploma in Accounting or Business or other related education.
Minimum 2 years experience in accounts payable and financial analysis.
Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) is preferred.
Additional Information:
