About the workplace

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from Vancity Community Foundation’s 312 Main office location and your Lower Mainland based home office.

About the role

As a Donor Relations Coordinator you will play a pivotal role supporting the Donor Relations team to effectively administer Vancity Community Foundation’s portfolio of Community and Donor Advised Funds. You will support the delivery of high-quality philanthropic services from ensuring accuracy and integrity in all aspects of data entry and maintenance, to supporting grant decision making and disbursement processes, and the delivery of in-person and online engagement activities.

A typical day would involve:

  • Coordinating fund advisor grant recommendations, including data entry and approval processes.
  • Collaborating with the VCF Finance Team to ensure accurate banking information is available for grantees.
  • Supporting the administration of grant decision-making processes using grant tracking software.
  • Maintaining and providing support to fund advisors to set up and access fund advisor portal and giving hub pages. Supporting the implementation of available upgrades for these tools and troubleshooting issues that may arise.
  • Monitoring the general inbox, fielding and directing inquiries as needed.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of in-person and online engagement activities and events.
  • Assisting the team in shifting Community and Donor Advised Fund granting towards values-aligned organizations by tagging and segmenting funds with interest areas and communication preferences.
  • Inputting and updating constituent data in CRM, ensuring that data is accurate and aligned with diversity, equity, and inclusion principles (e.g., updating pronouns, preferred names, and communication preferences).
  • Informing data governance strategies and recommending business rules to ensure best practices and industry standards are followed.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate to support JEDI principles.

You have:

  • A combination of experience in a philanthropic setting and/or education in a related field.
  • proven experience in donor relations, fundraising, or a similar role.
  • strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • strong proficiency and experience with CRM databases and file management best practices, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.
  • exceptional attention to detail and a natural aptitude for organization and time management.
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • comfortable performing routine data entry while remaining adaptable to shifting tasks and new challenges.
  • a commitment to the values of the Foundation and support for initiatives such as the Philanthropic Declaration for Action on Truth and Reconciliation and the Canadian Philanthropic Commitment on Climate Change.

The salary range for this role is $49,700-$62,100 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
