Qualifications

  • Certified Mountain Bike Instructor with experience in racing and guiding.

Job description

Are you a certified Mountain Bike Instructor? Have you ever wanted to teach and guide at a world-renowned mountain resort? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Sports School this summer as Mountain Bike Instructors & Guides. As a mountain bike instructor and guide, you will teach riders of all levels the necessary skills to navigate and enjoy the trails safely. You will lead riders through various terrains and help them build their confidence on the bike. On your days off, you have two lift-accessed bike parks, rounds of golf, hiking and lake days to look forward to. Compensation Information: Starting at $19.25 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium, work activities involve handling loads between 10 and 20 kg; Predominately in an outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills You Bring With You

  • Previous mountain bike (racing, guiding, instruction) experience.
  • Physically able to undertake up to 6 hours of Bike Park downhill riding up to 6 days per week in all types of mountain weather and extreme terrain. Safely demonstrate riding to manage descents and ascents through various and changeable ground surface conditions and obstacles including rocks, trees and man-made features.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current First Aid recognized by the province of British Columbia.
  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Mountain Bike Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized provider.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide group and individual guests with the best mountain bike experience by delivering all programs in a safe enjoyable and fun manner then completing all requested daily administrative duties.
  • Appropriate risk assessment for hazards, features and trail choices.
  • Assess student’s skill levels and plan appropriate activities.
  • Follow all required company operating guidelines and safe work practices
  • Assist Patrol and Mountain Operations as required.
