Position Overview:

The role involves continuing EIT assignment and performing specific engineering activities that require applying basic technical principles. While still developing technical skills, the candidate is expected to exercise limited professional judgment. This position is part of an engineer's ongoing training and development, with increasing scope and responsibility over time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with some work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Knowledge of oil sands extraction processes and technologies is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production reporting systems to ensure accurate data analysis and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform reconciliation of plant mass balances daily and monthly, tracking Bitumen variance across regional sites.
  • Support updates to the AER S-23 Manual for Extraction activities and monitor regulatory changes to update reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with teams to address production reporting and regulatory concerns, optimizing processes.
  • Use analytical tools to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Maintain documentation of production processes, methodologies, and reporting standards.

Location & Work Details:

  • Based at our Calgary head office in the Suncor Energy Centre, 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Standard 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
