Job Description

The Miscellaneous Material Handler role supports various production plant departments such as corrugator, converting, and shipping, with the ability to move between different departments and tasks as needed.

Essential Job functions/ Duties:

  • Must be safety oriented and ensure safety is the number one priority.
  • Follows Fruit Growers Supply’s Lock out, Tag out and Try Policy and machine specific Lock out, Tag out and Try Procedures.
  • Works in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs safety inspections in manufacturing or repair settings.
  • Promotes, executes, and adheres to Fruit Growers Supply Company’s safety programs and encourages all employees to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Attends daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
  • Works in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  1. Assists in various areas of the plant as needed, supporting different teams or equipment based on production requirements.
  2. Stays informed about the operation of all machine centers to provide effective support across multiple roles.
  3. Offers support to crews during breaks, shift changes, and vacations to maintain smooth operations.
  4. Assists crews with troubleshooting machine issues as directed by operators and supervisors.
  5. Helps configure machines for production runs by adjusting settings and facilitating changeovers.
  6. Collaborates with crews to ensure product quality through visual inspections and confirming materials meet specifications.
  7. Monitors machine efficiencies and speeds to ensure production levels meet or exceed standards, making necessary adjustments.
  8. Completes production and quality reports as required by the department.
  9. Uses the Kiwi system to track, manage, and document machine waste generated during the shift.
  10. Performs preventative maintenance checks according to established procedures and schedules.
  11. Works safely with corrugator, converting, and shipping crews during downtime to ensure quick resumption of production.
  12. Keeps production area clean and organized, performing daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping duties.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned by operators and supervisors to contribute to operational success.
  14. Reports all injuries, near misses, unsafe acts, and property damage promptly.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience):

  • 1-5 years of experience in the Corrugated Industry.
  • Valid unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • High School diploma or GED.
