Job description

Our client is a prominent independent supplier and marketer of fuel and petroleum products, as well as a leading convenience store operator. They serve diverse retail, commercial, and wholesale customers across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean region, and South America.

Team and Location : IT – Calgary, AB

Position Summary :

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Ensure the availability of the Informatica platform through product installation, hardening, version upgrades, patch management, daily system monitoring, usage reporting, security/user authentication and management, ETL project/object promotion and development, UAT and production environments, creating data connectors, server performance tuning, troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT to ensure optimal system performance.
  2. Implement procedures to maintain, monitor, backup, and recover operations for the ETL environment and projects.
  3. Set up and configure the Informatica Domain across multiple environments (Dev / QA / UAT / Prod), establishing projects, roles, users, and privileges within the ETL environments.
  4. Design, implement, and administer Informatica security, manage logs, domain objects, and reports.
  5. Maintain relationships with the Informatica vendor to ensure software updates and adherence to industry best practices.
  6. Develop and document policies and procedures for Informatica system processes; maintain and document related data profiles, engineering, and architecture.
  7. Stay current with advancements in Informatica technologies.
  8. Support developers with Informatica issues and guide them to follow best practices and standards.
  9. Collaborate with technical teams to develop and manage plans for new applications, especially those of high to critical complexity.
  10. Work closely with DBAs for performance tuning, upgrades, and archive strategies.
  11. Support data initiatives such as Data Quality, MDM, Data Conversion by staying informed on industry best practices for data integration and management.
  12. Provide cross-training, support, and knowledge transfer to developers and business users/community.

Qualifications and Skills :

  1. 5-7 years of experience in Informatica administration activities and/or a Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or a related field.
  2. Proficiency in a range of Informatica products, including IICS, PowerCenter, DEI, EDC, Axon, MDM, and IDQ, with a comprehensive understanding of their functionalities.
  3. Hands-on experience managing Informatica server and clusters, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, upgrades, patches, and hotfixes.
  4. Proven expertise in Informatica security administration to ensure data protection and access management.
  5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret user manuals, technical procedures, or business communications.
  6. Strong skills in data modeling, data architecture, data integration, and data warehousing.
  7. Expertise in SQL, MS SQL Server, programming, and query optimization.
  8. Experience working in SaaS environments.
  9. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for complex issues.
  10. Innovative, initiative-driven, organized, autonomous, adaptable, and capable of solving problems efficiently.
