Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, the Buyer - Subcontracting Manufacturing will source, negotiate, and purchase a variety of sub-contract machining and fabrication requirements in accordance with departmental goals, objectives, and best practices. The Buyer - Subcontracting Manufacturing will also be involved in Purchase Order management – confirmations, expediting, problem resolution and processing NCR’s.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Process purchasing documentation (i.e., Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Cancellation Forms, and non-conforming product) in accordance with ATS policies and procedures.
  2. Track, monitor and maintain purchase order deliveries to drive on-time delivery to schedules.
  3. Communicate with, evaluate, and approve suppliers to ascertain their ability to meet company requirements, goals and objectives.
  4. Negotiate prices, discounts, and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
  5. Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.
  6. Prepares reports and data as required.
  7. Assist Senior & Intermediate Buyers with special projects and/or tasks as required.
Qualifications

Education

  1. A post-secondary diploma or degree in materials management or equivalent. Supply Chain Canada (or equivalent) designation is an asset. Manufacturing or Engineering education or experience is an asset.

Experience

  1. Theoretical or hands-on knowledge of purchasing or materials management concepts is an asset.
  2. Experience in a custom manufacturing environment is an asset.
  3. Sound working knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams).
  4. Ability to interpret engineering drawings is an asset.
  5. Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to interact in a team environment.
