Position Overview

This Project Engineer is a job site management position and typically assumes responsibility for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project. Duties include but are not limited to: budget and schedule development and maintenance, subcontract management, quality control program management, contract compliance and administration, project administration systems management, and management of assigned job site personnel.

District Overview

McNally International is a privately owned heavy construction company that specializes in tunnel and marine construction. McNally is recognized as Canada's leading Tunnel Contractor, with experience building tunnels with a wide range of tunneling methods, for end uses including utilities (water, sewer, steam, power transmission,) and transportation (subways, traffic pedestrian walkways). On the water, we boast one of the best-equipped construction fleets in Eastern Canada; able to successfully handle a wide variety of marine construction jobs effectively and efficiently.

Location

This position will be based onsite in Halifax, NS.

Responsibilities

  1. Preparing contract submittals
  2. Developing and maintaining long-term project schedule
  3. Procurement of permanent materials
  4. Design of temporary works
  5. Supporting claims management process
  6. Coordination with D/B Design Manager as required to ensure design milestones are met
  7. Subcontract management
  8. Managing field QC processes
Qualifications

  1. University degree in engineering or construction-related discipline.
  2. Minimum of 5 years construction field and design experience. Knowledge of AutoCAD, CPM project scheduling, procurement, budgeting, QHSE, contract law, claims management.
  3. Licensed professional engineer designation is highly desirable.

  6. May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
