Responsibilities:

1. General assistance to the carpenter including assisting with all types of carpentry work in building wooden or part wooden items which form part of buildings (such as windows and stairs) both internal and external, and additional associated wooden items, such as furniture.
2. Assisting in general carpentry work and preparation as directed.
3. As directed by the manager to assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unloading and checking deliveries.
4. Housekeeping duties - Keeping a tidy and organized site. Sweeping floors, stacking lumber.
5. Undertaking tasks to assist the carpenter generally.
6. Receive training to assist with identifying hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices, and health and safety.
7. Liaising with the manager and other site workers and performing jobs as and when they are required, in accordance with contract/agreed requirements and within agreed time limits.
8. Ensure compliance with agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety.
9. Maintain accurate written worksheets and records/documentation associated with your work.
10. Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organization and/or its clients/customers.
11. Adhere to all organization policies and procedures, including those relating to hygiene, respect for other team members, timekeeping, and flexibility.

Wage: $24/Hr

Work time: 40-48 Hours/Week

Job Requirements:

1. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.
2. Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and equipment.
3. Interest in learning construction estimating and blueprint reading.
4. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
