About the District:

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students across 39 schools, including elementary, K-12, and secondary institutions. The district covers a large geographic area with a diverse community, rich in natural landscapes and cultural heritage. Assignment:

Grade 9-12 Mohawk Language Teacher

Requirements:
  1. In good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  2. OCT Intermediate/Senior divisional qualifications
  3. Proficiency in Kanien'kéha (Mohawk) language

HPEDSB encourages applicants proficient in Mohawk Language to apply. Non-certified applicants must submit:

  1. A resume and cover letter outlining relevant experience
  2. An endorsement letter from their community confirming Mohawk language proficiency

Applicants not certified with the Ontario College of Teachers must also demonstrate eligibility for a Letter of Permission, which includes:

  1. Being at least 18 years old
  2. Having an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  3. Providing a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal background check
