Job description

This opportunity is for you if you have experience analyzing credit information for commercial clients and excel at formulating strategic recommendations based on that analysis. You are meticulous, detail-oriented, and possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Establish and maintain a harmonious and professional relationship with internal clients and business partners.
  • Apply the company’s credit policies, practices, and procedures to assess the creditworthiness of a portfolio of commercial accounts while respecting defined authority limits.
  • Conduct thorough investigations for each new credit application or annual credit review.
  • Prepare detailed, high quality credit analyses, assessing risk using financial statements, payment history, credit reports (D&B, Equifax), security analysis, all in accordance with company credit policy guidelines.
  • Search, compile, and review security registrations (PPSA / RDPRM) and company profiles as part of the credit evaluation process. Prepare and monitor priority agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor credit approval conditions and ensure their proper implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to understand members' credit needs and optimize the facility structure according to risk profile.
  • Identify problematic situations and recommend solutions to support sustainable growth while respecting the organization's risk tolerance.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for internal and external clients, ensuring data accuracy for sound credit decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills for Success

  • University degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or SME credit, with a emphasis on risk analysis and report writing, is a major asset;
  • Experience in inventory financing, a major asset;
  • Solid knowledge of security registration procedures (PPSA / RDPRM) and priority agreements;
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts, financial statement analysis, and credit ratios;
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to resolve complex problems and work within tight deadlines;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and PowerPoint is an asset;
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, is required;
  • Knowledge of the retail sector, an asset;
  • Credit Institute designation (CCP or FCI), an asset.
