This position plays a crucial role in maintaining homeowner satisfaction by addressing post-possession concerns with professionalism and efficiency. The New Home/Warranty Technician will serve as the primary point of contact for warranty-related matters, conducting inspections, facilitating repairs, and ensuring homeowners receive exceptional service throughout their warranty period.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Warranty Repairs: Perform minor warranty repairs, schedule Trade Days, and coordinate service requests and appointments with homeowners and trades.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, findings, and work orders in BuildPro, adhering to department and ANHW guidelines.
  • Inspections: Perform 90-day and 1-year warranty inspections, identifying warrantable vs. non-warrantable items, and ensuring homeowner satisfaction.
  • Customer Service: Facilitate clear communication between homeowners, subcontractors, and trades to mediate and resolve issues effectively.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications or courses related to home construction an asset

Qualifications:

  • Valid drivers licence
  • 3-year clean drivers abstract
  • Clean criminal background check
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including the ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Strong knowledge of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHW) and home construction processes
  • Tech savvy: must be familiar with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of industry experience.
  • Experience working on site and/or within home warranty repairs required.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal communication skills, including active listening, respectful address of concerns, and problem-solving/conflict resolution
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage shifting priorities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while working with diverse client groups to achieve high customer satisfactions
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite

Base Salary: $70,000-80,000 per year

  • Salary based on experience

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
