A leading educational initiative in Newfoundland and Labrador seeks a Retention Coordinator to enhance support for international students. This role involves coordinating mentorship programs, developing new initiatives, and fostering partnerships to ensure student success post-graduation. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree and experience in student support, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
International Education Newfoundland and Labrador (IENL), in partnership with the College of the North Atlantic, Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, is leading an initiative for exceptional and motivated international students who are committed to living, working, and contributing to communities in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Study and Stay NL Program is a province-wide program aimed at connecting graduating international students directly to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and to the labour market, helping participants to build valuable professional and entrepreneurship skills, gain workplace knowledge, and build meaningful connections through workshops, networking, and mentorship.
The Retention Coordinator will be responsible for mapping existing on-campus supports, facilitating the mentorship program, and, where there are gaps, developing new initiatives to support and retain a cohort of current international students in this province post-graduation. The successful candidate will work closely with all of Newfoundland and Labrador’s post-secondary educational institutions, various provincial and federal government departments, and partners from around the world.
LOCATION(S):
St John’s, NL; Hybrid
EMPLOYMENT TERM:
Commencing immediately with a two-year appointment; final end date subject to funding availability.
SALARY:
$75,000 per annum
