Business Controller, Global FP&A – Food NA

Department: Corporate Finance

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE

Reporting to the FP&A – Director – Food & Loyalty, this position is part of the Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, providing financial guidance to the Food leadership team. You will help drive performance from both financial and operational perspectives, facilitating management decisions related to P&L, Gross Margin, CAPEX, and other financial analyses, along with ad hoc data requests and problem-solving.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting and controlling:

  • Prepare and interpret financial reports by analyzing data from various sources and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintain and develop P&L models for Food categories, collaborating cross-functionally to align financial data structures with global needs.
  • Analyze financial performance versus budget and prior periods, providing insights and comments.
  • Support Global Food teams with ad hoc financial analyses and performance insights.

Business planning:

  • Support the overall business planning process across regions.
  • Coordinate processes and deliverables across stakeholders.
  • Align CAPEX needs, targets, and plans with stakeholders.
  • Build financial models to project outcomes of business cases, identifying key drivers and assumptions.

Investment Decision Support:

  • Develop or review business cases for strategic initiatives, ensuring assumptions are realistic and aligned.
  • Standardize investment decision methodologies and track budgets.
  • Educate stakeholders on best practices for business case development.

Operational Expenditure Tracking, Analysis and Reporting:

  • Coordinate with OPEX team to report, analyze, and provide insights on spending.
  • Assist in spend management and variance reporting.

Improve and Automate Reporting Tools:

  • Participate in process improvements and data automation projects.
  • Collaborate with the D&A team to analyze data sources for insights.

Other:

  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and systems.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Travel approximately 2-5% of the time.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

Experience: 5-10 years in financial analysis, strategic planning, budgeting, or forecasting.

Knowledge and skills: Advanced Excel skills, working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint; experience with financial systems (Longview, PDI, JD Edwards, etc.); strong analytical and communication skills; experience with large datasets; bilingual in French and English.
