Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician Responsibilities

1. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
2. Demonstrate and train customers in the use and repair of TRUMPF machines in a complete and organized manner.
3. Travel up to 100%, including regional, national, and international travel.
4. Complete basic retrofits, software installations, and customer training.
5. Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues.
6. Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationships with customers.
7. Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for troubleshooting.
8. Submit required weekly TRUMPF reports in a complete and organized manner.
9. Participate in training lasting approximately 6 months with ongoing training on existing and new products each year.
10. Must be able to lift 70 pounds without aid.

Travel Requirements

1. Must be located, or have the ability to relocate, within 45 minutes of a major International Airport.
2. 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically.
3. Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday.
4. Some weekend work as needed.

Experience/Education

1. Two-year technical school degree in Engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience. Experience in computer software/file management is advantageous.
2. 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair, or customer service required.
3. Strong electrical and computer systems experience and a high level of diagnostic skills.
4. Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems, or mechatronics.
5. Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools.
6. Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organizational skills.
