In doing this, you will interact with FQM customers, visit customer-operated downstream processing facilities, and understand the technical and commercial opportunity for treating FQM’s metal products.

  4. Assist in researching and writing sections of FQM group reports, including the Annual Information Form (AIF) and marketing sections that feed into the board reports.
  5. Manage interactions and accounts that FQM has with some purveyors of market intelligence.
  6. Conduct in-depth research on metal commodities markets, focusing on trends in supply, demand, pricing, and geopolitical factors impacting the industry.
  7. Obtain, evaluate, and compare commercial bids for FQM metal products (for sales) and inputs (especially energy products), for presentation to FQM Trading management.
  8. Evaluate potential new customers for capability and logistics feasibility.
  9. Perform market analysis (supply, demand, price direction, sensitivities) on a regular and ad hoc basis for the markets in which FQM sells products and procures inputs (especially commodity-type inputs), and present these findings to FQM Trading management and colleagues at FQM mines.
  10. Assist in the arrangement and facilitation of visits to customers’ plants, and for reciprocating visits by FQM customers to FQM mines.
  11. Research, compile, and write sections of various FQM reports (Board report, AIF, and Ad Hoc reports).
  12. Troubleshoot, especially where there are quality issues in the products that FQM has delivered to customers.
  13. Data Collection and Interpretation: Gather, process, and analyze data from multiple sources to develop insights and support strategic decisions, including evaluating production capacities, inventory levels, and trade flows.
  14. Forecasting and Modelling: Develop forecasting models to project future market trends for various metals, taking into account economic, environmental, and regulatory factors.
  15. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare reports, presentations, and executive summaries for stakeholders, including financial and strategic analysis with actionable insights.
  16. Monitoring Regulatory and Industry Changes: Track changes in environmental policies, mining regulations, and technological advancements that may impact the metals market.
  17. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with investment, finance, and operations teams to provide insights that support corporate strategy, project feasibility, and investment recommendations.
