The Senior IT Technician is highly technical, customer-facing, and accountable for end-to-end customer server and cloud deployments.
The individual will own technical customer engagement, including project management, architectural design sessions, implementation projects, Proofs of Concepts, and leading deep technical architecture and application design discussions with senior customer executives to drive cloud deployment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive deployment of customer workloads into Azure and increase their consumption of the platform by providing deployment guidance, supporting development of the customer's cloud adoption model, and offering recommendations to overcome blockers.
- Accelerate consumption in high-potential customer accounts by providing deep technical expertise and support for migrating complex workloads to the cloud.
- Adapt and modify proposed designs to meet customer requirements and timelines effectively.
REQUIREMENTS
- Passed or near passing at least one Azure technical certification exam (70-532, 70-533, or 70-534).
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends.
- Experience building technical relationships with senior executives and increasing cloud consumption in strategic accounts.
- 5+ years in consultative or complex technical deployment projects.
- 5+ years in architecture, design, implementation, or support of highly distributed applications.
- 2+ years experience migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and designing platforms for specific applications.
- Experience overseeing major transformation projects and transitioning to support teams.
- Experience with SQL and PaaS is a plus.
- Networking, security, or product experience (e.g., Cisco, Amazon) is a plus.
- Strong time management skills, as this is a billable client delivery role.
- Deep IaaS knowledge related to workload transition and migration is advantageous.
- Commitment to staying current on Azure technologies through labs, blogging, or other means.
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational and documentation skills.
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
- Basic knowledge of internet security and Linux.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, internet services, and small business networking.
- Ability to configure and build hardware, including servers.
- Mobile phone and own vehicle with Class 7 insurance for business use.
