Job description

Now, we want to invest in a dedicated role, the. Social Value Manager, who will be responsible for designing and implementing a new social value strategy to embed our company purpose across our workforce, and enabling our broader ESG strategy and goals.

The role will partner closely with ExCo Sponsors and Business Leaders, and will report directly to the Chief People Officer.

Key Accountabilities:

Social Impact/ Purpose Strategy, Planning and Implementation

  • Work with ExCo Sponsors & key stakeholders to identify and design strategic priorities to activate Bidvest Noonan’s company purpose / social value ambitions.
  • Link the social value strategy to the overall ESG strategy, inputting into the development of the overall sustainability strategy.
  • Collaborate with critical business stakeholders to set long-term goals and objectives related to purpose / social impact initiatives.
  • Organise and manage company social value initiatives, e.g. company volunteering days with charity partners.
  • Establish network across the business to activate and embed social value priorities,
  • Develop and maintain social value policies and procedures.

Charity Identification and Management

  • Identify potential charity partners and collaborators to enable Bidvest Noonan’s purpose/ social value ambitions and develop strategic relationships to maximise impact.
  • Oversee Bidvest Noonan’s charitable partnerships and programmes, including fundraising, grant allocation, and project management.

Governance and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support with running appropriate internal governance forums to maintain progress against purpose/ social value commitments.
  • Act as a liaison between Bidvest Noonan and external stakeholders, including donors, partner organisations, and community members.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and events related to purpose/ social impact and charitable work.
  • Liaise with operational teams and customer representatives on social value initiatives, scaling solutions across the UK and Ireland.
  • Support the growth team with social value content for tender submissions, attend customer presentations as required.
  • Work collaboratively with procurement on supplier social value commitments.

Impact Measurement and Reporting

  • Develop and implement KPIs and methodology to enable social value measurement, using recognised frameworks.
  • Develop and implement strategy and methodology for social value measurement
  • collaborate cross functionally on the preparation of social value data for corporate and regulatory reporting requirements, e.g. CSRD.
  • Input into reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders to communicate the outcomes and achievements of our purpose / social impact efforts.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Sustainability, Community Development, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a social value, CSR, community engagement, or sustainability role – ideally with experience of scaling social value initiatives across large businesses.
  • Experience contributing to bids, tenders, and project reporting processes is an advantage.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage projects effectively from inception to completion, including setting objectives, developing action plans, allocating resources, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Business Acumen: A solid understanding of business operations, including finance, marketing, supply chain management, and strategic planning. This allows them to integrate social value initiatives into the core business strategy effectively.
  • Understanding of Social Value Principles: Deep understanding of social value principles, including social impact assessment methodologies, measurement techniques, and frameworks such as Social Return on Investment (SROI) or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics.
