Location: Coquitlam Campus
Salary Range: $71,846 - $115,129 annually. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification, and experience, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES
This position is responsible for the overall leadership and coordination in the development of innovative educational methodologies which incorporate best educational practices. It also provides assistance to departments in developing strategies and methods to assess, implement, and evaluate quality assurance processes. The individual works with faculty to support their orientation and development in educational best practices, with an emphasis on instructional methodology incorporating online learning and related methodologies.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT :
- Facilitates the planning, development, and implementation of standards for best practices in educational methodology and quality assurance practices
- Develops and coordinates policies, procedures, and practices related to the use of best practices in educational methodology and quality assurance practices
- Assesses operational and capital requirements as part of annual and ongoing planning processes related to educational methodology and quality assurance practices
- Identifies external sources of funding for activities, if available
- Identifies emerging trends in best practices in educational methodology and quality assurance practices
- Plans tracking mechanisms to evaluate educational and quality assurance practices against intended outcomes
- Plans and develops orientation and learning activities related to educational best practices and quality assurance for new faculty and relevant learner groups in Health Sciences and other departments
- Regularly updates Dean and relevant stakeholders on plans and activities related to educational methodology and quality assurance
- Participates in scholarly and evaluation activities relating to educational best practices and quality assurance
- Completes all planning and development responsibilities effectively and on time
OPERATIONS AND LIAISON :
- Develops and implements activities related to educational methodology and quality assurance aligned with faculty and departmental priorities
- Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to provide expertise on educational methodologies and quality assurance
- Ensures that all activities are developed and coordinated for designated programs
- Implements scholarly and evaluation activities related to educational methodologies and quality assurance
- Submits recommendations for operating and capital funding in a timely manner
- Develops proposals for external funding when appropriate
- Maintains effective communication strategies with program faculty and liaisons
- Engages in team building and interprofessional activities
- Acts as the operational and communication link between Health Science Departments and stakeholders
- Implements procedures addressing emerging issues impacting educational methodologies and quality assurance
- Completes operational and liaison responsibilities effectively and on time
- Provides relief and operational support to other coordinators as needed
EVALUATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE :
- Evaluates quality assurance procedures to ensure they meet program and course outcomes
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets data related to educational practices
- Engages in continuous quality improvement to meet targets, revising practices based on data
- Develops and maintains documentation of intended outcomes
- Assists with accreditation and recognition documents
- Participates in professional development and external activities related to quality assurance

QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field required; Master's or doctorate preferred
- Minimum three years' experience as an educator in nursing, psychiatric nursing, education, or related field
- Understanding of undergraduate student educational experiences
- Ability to plan, operationalize, and evaluate evidence-based educational practices, especially online learning
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices and continuous improvement
- Ability to translate complex educational concepts for diverse learners
- Understanding of relevant policies and collective agreements
- Excellent collaboration, conflict management, and communication skills
- Strong report writing and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Proficiency with computer and web-based software and supporting diverse learners
Additional Information: The position starts September 1, 2025, for an initial one-year term, with potential extensions up to three years. Seven sections of time release are available for 2025-2026.
