Job Opportunity: Teacher on Call at Robert Service School, Dawson City (2024/2025)

Yukon Education is seeking Teacher on Calls for Robert Service School in Dawson City for the 2024/2025 school year. This role involves replacing regular classroom teachers or education assistants on an as-needed basis, delivering lesson plans, maintaining a positive learning environment, managing students, and collaborating with staff to support student success. Responsibilities may also include supervising students during breaks and participating in arrival and dismissal duties.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
  • Bachelor of Education (Elementary, Middle, or Secondary) or equivalent training (asset)
  • Valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate or in progress (asset)
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills with courtesy and tact
  • Judgment to determine appropriate actions within established procedures
  • Knowledge of spoken and written French (required for CSFY positions)
  • Sensitivity to Yukon First Nations cultures and a diverse student body

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, dated within 3 months of start date, required before employment
