Position: Boom Truck Operator Journeyperson - MEG Energy

Project Details

Type: Pipeline

Location: Southern Athabasca region, near Conklin, Alberta

Shift: Day

Schedule: As per project requirements

Accommodations: Camp at Poplar Ridge Lodge, featuring amenities such as gym, rec area, commissary, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable, and catering services

Travel: $500 per shift rotation ($250 each way)

Project Overview

Located approximately 150 km south of Fort McMurray, the Christina Lake Project is a multi-phase SAGD operation with regulatory approval to produce about 210,000 bpd. The site boasts a modern facility with a dedicated team emphasizing safety and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive instructions from supervisor regarding materials and excavation tasks
  • Operate equipment safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret gauges and equipment results
  • Perform daily maintenance and servicing of equipment
  • Conduct minor repairs and tool maintenance
Minimum Requirements
  • Journeyperson Ticket or Apprentice card (for apprentices)
  • CSTS-2020 certification
  • H2S Alive certification (ESC or ESC Approved Vendor)
  • Fall Arrest/Protection certification (ESC)
  • Aerial Work Platform certification (ESC)
  • Valid Full Class 5 Driver’s License with 3 years of driving record (GDL license candidates should seek approval from site/hiring manager)
