Job Overview

Burkett Asset Management is seeking an Associate Portfolio Manager to join its growing team. In this role, you will be a member of a collaborative and investment focused team requiring exceptional communication skills, proficiency with technology and high attention to detail.

The Associate Portfolio Manager will support the day-to-day management of client portfolios, trading and investment research. This is a role designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, analytically sharp, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Portfolio Manager in addressing client needs, analyzing securities, and managing portfolio risk.

• Manage assigned portfolios to optimize returns within client-specific investment policies and risk parameters.

• Conduct investment research and due diligence, including evaluating new and existing securities, monitoring macroeconomic trends, and building financial models.

• Develop and present investment proposals, client reports, and internal research findings.

• Execute and oversee trade activities and account rebalancing, ensuring alignment with the firm’s investment strategy.

• Monitor portfolio performance, conduct attribution and risk analysis, and adjust strategies as needed.

• Collaborate with operations, compliance, and external advisors to ensure smooth firm operations, including regulatory filings and audits.

• Contribute to client communication efforts, including presentations, meetings, and reporting materials.

• Provide leadership or mentorship to junior team members and contribute to firm-wide strategic initiatives.

Job Requirements

A career in Investment Management is challenging and fast-paced. A high regard for accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Preference will be given to applicants who meet the following requirements:

• CFA designation (or near completion), and eligibility for registration as an Advising or Associate Advising Representative.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in portfolio management, investment research, or wealth management.

• Strong proficiency with order management systems, execution management systems, Bloomberg and Excel; familiarity with D1g1t is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.

• Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Demonstrated leadership with a track record of fostering collaboration and driving employee engagement.

• Deep understanding of professional financial planning, investment regulations, and portfolio management best practices.
