Island Health is seeking a full-time nursing staff member for a specialized training program. The role involves direct patient care in various settings, with an emphasis on safety and quality. Successful candidates will transition into regular positions post-training.
This position offers a regular full-time training opportunity (theory and practicum) to prepare staff for work in the specified Island Health specialty department. Upon completion of training, staff will be placed into a regular full-time rotation line within the specialty department they have been trained for.
Note: There is an 18-month return of service requirement as a regular/permanent employee within the Island Health specialty department for which they have been trained. Staff may transfer between Island Health departments within that specialty. The post-basic training program requires full-time attendance. This role reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Responsibilities include planning and providing direct nursing care to patients/residents in hospital or community settings, in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Education, Training, and Experience:
The hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change based on operational requirements, the Collective Agreement, and applicable statutes.
