The role:

Provides oversight and support to Caribbean countries, ensuring proper execution of the Volcker Rule across the region, aligned with business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with front and back office to implement the Volcker compliance program in assigned jurisdictions according to policies.
2. Identify, escalate, and resolve breaches.
3. Collaborate with business lines to update the Desk Operating Plan (DOP) and related documentation.
4. Review and monitor front office Volcker requirements, including controls, policies, training, and metrics.
5. Prepare control assessment reports for stakeholders and management, highlighting findings and recommendations.
6. Escalate issues to senior management for further investigation.
7. Work with various units to implement controls during system or business changes and regulatory updates.
8. Assist in preparing for regulatory and audit requests related to Volcker.
9. Monitor and report on audit issues and management responses.
10. Identify opportunities to improve controls and process efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in wealth management, capital markets, or compliance.
• Knowledge of banking operations, risk management, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
• Strong understanding of US regulations and their impact on activities.
• Leadership skills with the ability to coach and foster teamwork.
• Understanding of products and transactions in capital markets, treasury, and banking.
• Experience with control functions such as risk management, audit, and compliance.
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
