Tri-County Regional Centre for Education

The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) serves the counties of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby, supporting approximately 6,100 students across 22 schools, including 13 elementary schools, 6 high schools, 1 middle school, and 2 combined elementary/high schools.

Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Yarmouth County Schools (Travel to other schools within the Tri-Counties may be required)

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for certification by the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Eligibility for certification by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.
  • Training in Assistive Technology.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse cultural and racial backgrounds.
  • Ability to value others' contributions and accept constructive criticism.
  • Completion of WHMIS and First Aid training or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional development in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school setting.
  • Experience administering and interpreting standardized assessments.
  • Experience leading speech pathology professional development sessions.
  • Experience supporting non-verbal students.
  • Experience assisting school staff with program planning and classroom strategies.
