A leading health authority is seeking an ACT Mental Health Support Worker to provide community-based support services. The role involves assisting clients with mental health and addiction challenges, promoting independence, and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in Community Social Services and strong communication skills.

Reporting to the team leader or designate, the ACT Mental Health Support Worker provides outreach community-based support services as part of a multidisciplinary and multi-agency team. The role involves assisting in mental health and addictions treatment, providing life skills training, coaching, advocacy, and advice to clients experiencing mental health, behavioral, and developmental challenges, as well as to their caregivers and families, following an established care plan. The worker motivates, assists, and instructs clients with activities of daily living, reports on clients' progress and conditions, including reactions to medications.
