Position Overview

Pivot Onsite Innovations has an immediate need for an experienced and passionate LPN at our client’s site in Amana, IA in a PRN role (as needed). This position offers an opportunity to work at a dynamic worksite and make an impact on employee health, wellness, and safety!

Clinic Hours/Potential Coverage Times: 3 Shifts M-F

Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) coordinates health care for employees in the onsite clinic, overseeing evaluation and case management of workplace injuries as well as compliance with medical surveillance programs. The LPN relays information to employees and client key stakeholders regarding workplace safety and injury prevention as well as assuring compliance with health-related OSHA mandates.

Position Responsibilities:

Clinical

  1. Giving medication as prescribed by a physician
  2. Taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight
  3. Basic wound care including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
  4. Giving injections of medication
  5. Immunizations
  6. Taking medical histories
  7. Entering information into computer systems
  8. Managing IVs
  9. Monitoring fluid/food intake and output
  10. Moving patients safely
  11. Assessing patients’ reactions to medications

Administrative

  1. Scheduling appointments
  2. Keeping medical records current
  3. Writing prescriptions at a physician's request
  4. Providing as needed guidance to onsite personnel at local clinics/client locations
  5. Assisting with day-to-day issues and escalating accordingly to the Director of Operations and HR
  6. Managing all aspects of the Occupational Health Services Program
  7. Training and educating employees in health-related matters
  8. Preparing and supervising the clinic/patient interaction of the Overseeing Physician as necessary
  9. Maintaining charts and employee records
  10. Case management of workman’s compensation claims
  11. Maintaining current case log for workplace injuries, outlining treatment plan for weekly case review
  12. Assuring compliance with the OSHA and DOT programs such as hearing conservation, blood-borne pathogen training, random drug screening, and follow-up programs
  13. Maintaining and updating the OSHA log monthly

Position Requirements:

  1. Must have a valid state LPN license
  2. 3+ years of nursing experience (Required)
  3. 2+ years of occupational health experience (Preferred)
  4. Ability to communicate with all levels across the organization effectively
  5. Strong administrative and management skills
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  7. Ability to maintain high level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  8. Experienced in developing health/wellness programs and performing ergonomic assessment
  9. Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation case management and regulations
  10. Working knowledge of HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, and OSHA regulations
  11. Familiarity with manufacturing and production facility practices
  12. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  13. Position may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination
