About the Role :

We are passionate engineers solving complex distributed systems and infrastructure challenges. We are building Kora as a managed service that offers high availability, performance, and low ownership costs. You will work on developing Kora's compute layer to be highly available, reliable, secure, scalable, and multi-tenant. You will lead technical solutions end-to-end, collaborating closely with the team and stakeholders to design and develop top-tier solutions. Recent challenges include:

What You Will Do :

• Deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality and enthusiasm for challenges
• Focus on customer success by addressing their most challenging problems
• Make decisions that benefit the team and company, demonstrating strong teamwork
• Identify root causes and resolve hard problems by digging deep

What You Will Bring :

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of cloud infrastructure and networking experience
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
• Experience operating large-scale cloud systems
• Understanding of systems operations (disk, network, OS)
• Self-motivated with effective teamwork skills
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go, or similar languages

What Gives You an Edge :

• Familiarity with JVM
• Background in distributed storage systems or databases
• Experience in resource management and QoS
• Knowledge of public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Interest in evangelism (conference talks, blogging about Kafka)
• Experience with databases or data storage
