Job description

Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a caring and detail-oriented individual to join our Public Health Team at FSHC. This Administrative Support III position is a key member of the public health team that provides integrated, family-centered public health care. Our team offers services such as Immunization, Maternal Newborn Health, Well Child Clinic, School Health, and Health Promotion.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Support daily operations of Public Health services, including greeting clients, managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, data entry, records management, and anticipating client needs.
  • Proficient use of electronic medical records and scheduling systems.
  • Perform administrative duties independently within a team environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Work in a loud, chaotic, busy environment with clients of all ages.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 lbs. of equipment and perform repetitive movements for a 7.75-hour shift, including sitting, standing, and bending.
  • Adhere to hand hygiene protocols, including use of hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap.

  • Location: Fort Saskatchewan Health Centre
  • FTE: 0.80
  • Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends
  • Salary Range: $23.53 - $28.60 per hour
  • Posting End Date: 15-MAY-2025

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal medical office administration education or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year recent experience in an administrative support role within Public Health or Schools.
  • Effective communication skills and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of health databases and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Additional Preferences:
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Awareness of social determinants of health.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention training and BLS certification preferred.
