The Position
The Financial Aid Assistant will play a key role in supporting the administration of both institutional and government-sponsored financial aid programs for students. This includes assisting with the review, verification and processing of financial aid applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The Assistant will also serve as a point of contact for students, providing information and guidance regarding financial aid processes and eligibility. In addition, the role involves supporting the Financial Aid Manager with various administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
This is a PT position requiring 10-15 hours per week in a flexible schedule
Responsibilities
The Financial Aid Assistant will provide support in processing institutional and government sponsored financial aid for students, and assist the Financial Aid Manager in other duties as assigned.
- Institutional Financial Aid
- Assist the financial aid office in assessing, reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations for the awarding of returning and new student financial aid.
- Duties include processing applications, reviewing eligibility criteria, ranking candidates, compiling nominations and data entry.
- Communicating with award recipients and internal departments
- Government Sponsored Financial Aid
- Support the work of the Financial Aid team in administering government sponsored financial aid, including the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
- Duties include confirming student enrolment, processing course changes, preparing fund transfer reports and data entry Annual OSAP training
- Office communications and other duties
- Assist in responding to incoming communications and questions regarding financial aid
- Manage Financial Aid appointment bookings and communications
- Support the financial aid office by doing other duties as assigned.

Education, Training & Certifications
- High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary education is an asset
