About the Role

The Digital Education and Training Leader is a crucial member of our team, responsible for driving safety, quality, and performance excellence through the implementation, support, and use of digital tools and technology, specifically Poka. This role involves fostering a continuous improvement culture at Barry Callebaut Brantford while ensuring food and employee safety in daily routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, facilitate, and update all training programs to ensure seamless integration with operational needs.
  • Lead the development and deployment of the POKA Connected Worker Platform, enhancing digital capabilities across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and Supervisors to identify and assess training needs, promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and systems for all shifts, guaranteeing up-to-date knowledge and skills.
  • Increase digital system capabilities among operational stakeholders through on-the-job training and coaching, boosting efficiency and productivity.
  • Act as a trusted coach, linking operators and management teams while creating a data-driven environment.
  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics, utilizing data visualization tools like POKA to create dashboards and tools supporting informed decisions.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and track results, optimizing business outcomes.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, scope, and business rationale for training programs/projects.
  • Meet/exceed requirements for food safety and employee safety, upholding the highest standards.

About You

  • A minimum of three to five years' experience in a Digital Education and Training role is required.
  • Prior post-secondary education in English, Journalism, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is highly valued.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing is considered highly valuable.
  • Experience with POKA, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, is mandatory.
  • Continuous improvement, change management, and problem-solving skills, coupled with quantitative, analytical, and process improvement abilities, are essential.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
  • Technical writing experience is considered a valuable asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, adapting to diverse situations and challenges.

Work Environment

  • Prolonged standing on concrete floors is necessary.
  • Long periods of computer usage require finger dexterity and hand movement for keyboard and mouse operation, along with repetitive motion.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions and temperatures within and outside the facility.
  • Noise levels may exceed .85 decibels.
